This policy explains what personal information the shop collects, why it is used, and how long it is kept. It applies to this website, to orders for print books and ebooks, and to customer accounts.
We are the controller of the personal information described here. The shop is based in the United Kingdom. This policy follows the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
Information you give us:
- Name, billing address, and delivery address
- Email address
- Account login details
- Order details, including titles, format, and the message you send about an order
- Payment confirmation. We do not store your full card number. Card and wallet payments are handled by our payment provider
Information collected when you use the site:
- Device, browser, and IP address
- Pages viewed and items added to the basket
- Cookie identifiers, where you allow them
We do not ask for more than we need to take an order, deliver it, and keep the account working.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
We share only what is needed, and only with:
- Delivery carriers, so a print book can be delivered and tracked
- Our payment provider, to take Apple Pay, Google Pay, and card payments (American Express, Discover, Maestro, Mastercard, Visa)
- The ebook supplier or file host, so the file can be delivered to your email and account
- IT and hosting providers who run the website and account system
- Professional advisers or authorities, if the law requires it
These parties may only use the information for the purpose we give it to them. Some providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where they do, we use a lawful transfer safeguard, such as the UK extension to EU standard contractual clauses or an adequacy regulation.
How long we keep it
- Account details: until you close the account, then deleted or anonymised unless an order record must be kept
- Order and payment records: 6 years after the order, for tax and accounting
- Returns and complaint notes: 6 years after the matter is closed
- Server logs: up to 12 months
- Cookie data: for the period shown in the cookie notice, or until you clear it
Ebook files in your account stay available so you can download them again, until you close the account or we are required to remove them.
Cookies
Strictly necessary cookies run the basket, checkout, and account login. They do not need consent.
Optional cookies, such as analytics, run only if you accept them. You can reject them in the cookie banner and change that choice later. Blocking optional cookies does not stop you ordering.
Your rights
You can ask to:
- See the personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is wrong
- Delete it, where we are not required to keep it
- Restrict or object to certain uses
- Receive a copy in a portable format, where the basis is contract or consent
- Withdraw cookie consent at any time
To use these rights, send the request through your account. We may ask you to confirm you are the account holder before we release anything. We respond within one month.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would prefer to put a problem right first.
Children
The shop is not aimed at children. Do not create an account if you are under 18, unless a parent or guardian is placing the order and supervising the account.
Changes
We may update this policy when the shop or the law changes. The version on the site is the current one. A change does not reduce the protection on an order already placed.
